The goal of NJHS is to, “To create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, to develop worthy school and community citizenship, and to develop character in the students of secondary schools.” These purposes also translate into the criteria used for membership selection at Ingleside Middle School.
All students who have completed their seventh grade are eligible for membership. The first requirement to meet for membership is an academic one; the student must have a 3.5 grade point average or above for each quarter of the seventh grade year. Students transferring to Ingleside during their 8th grade year that meet this first requirement would be eligible to apply for membership to the Ingleside Chapter.
